UCLA Academy Camp – A Huge Success
UCLA Academy Camp Success
Recently Pure Sports Travel in conjunction with ilovesoccer.com.au had the pleasure of hosting the Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the University of California, Los Angeles’ (UCLA) Women’s team and Head Coach of UC Davis Women’s team to Sydney and Melbourne for a two-day Academy Camp!
Girls of all ages attended the camp from 10 to 19, to learn about the US College System and to develop their skills under the guidance of these coaches.
UCLA is a top US University in the NCAA Division 1 competition (the highest level of competition). The UCLA Women’s Team won the NCAA1 Championship in 2013 and are continuously proving to be strong contenders with their successful 2014 season with 21 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss.
The Camp was designed to help players “LEARN” what it takes to succeed in a top US University athletically and academically, “EXPERIENCE” training from the UCLA Women’s Soccer Coaches and “INSPIRE” drive to be a champion and reach for their dreams.
The UCLA coaches are world-class in their knowledge of football and effectively inspired all of the girls that attended these camps.
The Sydney Camp was at the prestigious Sydney University which provided quality fields and learning facilities which was thoroughly appreciated by both parents and players.
Overall it was a huge success with positive and supportive feedback from players, parents and the coaches which means that we will continue providing this exceptional opportunity for young aspiring players in the future! We plan to expand further and include more coaches from US Colleges.
Testimonials
“Thanks Valerie. Alex enjoyed it and is still talking about it. I think she was quite inspired” – Mal Perkins (Parent)
“I found the coaches very generous with their support and advice for the girls and it was great to have the college system in the U.S. demystified and made accessible to the girls. The small numbers were a bonus and enabled the girls to receive very personalised coaching.I applaud you and the coaches for providing an excellent forum for the girls to explore international avenues and to provide a conduit for U.S coaches to look to Australian talent now and in the future. Well done and I hope to be able to send Josie next year to the U.S. with your tour.” – Penny Wilson (Parent)
“The soccer academy was definitely worthwhile, it provided inspiration and motivation for my daughter. She said it was so much fun and was great to do some different drills and training” – Nina Augoustis (Parent)
